Bulldogs Clinch Playoff Spot

The Marlin Bulldogs have clinched a spot in the playoffs. In order to make the playoffs the Bulldogs needed to win against the New Waverly Bulldogs Friday, November 3, 2017 in New Waverly. The Bulldogs knew they needed to handle business on the field and they did just that.

The Bulldogs wasted no time making something happen early in the game. #7 Ish Brooks makes a pass to #8 Tyrese Mayes and he takes it in to the end zone for a Bulldog score.

The New Waverly Bulldogs offense was no match for the stellar defense of the Marlin Bulldogs. The MB defense smothered New Waverly leaving them with little room to work with. The New Waverly Bulldogs put up 19 points throughout the entire game but those few points didn’t come easy.

Marlin’s offense went to work putting up 35 points on the scoreboard. The offense had a total of 679 yards, 4 TD’s, 11-20 passing att., 193 passing yards, 1 TD and 1 interception. 27 rushes for a total of 391 rushing yards.

Alik Brooks, 1 TD & 12 rushes for 146 yards, 434 all purpose yards

Tyrese Mayes, 5 rec, 138 receiving yards, 1 TD

Jimmi Quinn Jr., 6 rushes, 108 rushing yards, 3 rushing TD’s, 1 20 yard rec, 128 all purpose yards
