The Marlin Bulldogs took on the Anderson Shiro Fighting Owls in Anderson Shiro , Texas, Friday, October 20, 2017. The Bulldogs wasted no time putting points on the scoreboard as SirCharleston Lee takes a hand off from Collins into the end zone. The Owls offense step on the field and tried to answer but the Bulldog’s D would shut them down.

Ish Brooks takes the snap from the 35 yard line and takes it all the way to the house for a TD. Once again, the Marlin defense would hold the Owls to another scoreless drive with stops made by Sevastian Hernandez, Jeremiah Henry, SirCharleston Lee, Jimi Quinn, and Tre Johnson.

The Marlin offense kept the chains moving and finishes off their possession with another Bulldog score from Ish Brooks putting the Bulldogs up 21-0 before the half. Unfortunately the game did not end with the clock running down to 0 but was called due to a back injury that one of the Owl’s players sustained during a play. EMS was dispatched to the stadium and the player was taken off the field by stretcher to a nearby hospital. There was complete silence in the stadium as everyone there watched on the field with much concern. The Bulldogs coaches and players locked hands in prayer for the injured player.

The Bulldogs would head home with the victory but would also leave Anderson Shiro, Texas with heavy hearts of concern for #5 Tyler Derrett of the Anderson Shiro Owls. We pray for complete healing and a full recovery for Tyler!!!
