Marlin PD Sergeant John Simmons Promoted to Captain

Captain John Simmons has moved up the ranks in the Marlin Police department. He was promoted from Sergeant to Captain by Marlin Police Chief Michael Pesses. A promotion ceremony was held at Marlin City Hall the morning of Friday, October 13, 2017 where Captain John Simmons was surrounded with the support of his family and dignitaries from both the City of Marlin and Falls County.

Captain Simmons has been in law enforcement for a total of 8 years. He joined the Marlin Police force in February of 2014 and served under the leadership of the late Chief Darrell Allen. When asked, what keeps him motivated about his job he stated, “serving the people in the community is what keeps me excited about my job.”

Chief Pesses stated  “Captain Simmons is a friendly guy, but takes his job as a police officer very serious. He’s displayed a high commitment to the department, the City of Marlin, and to the citizens of Marlin. Captain Simmons has proven himself to be worthy of the promotion.” Captain Simmons had the honor of being pinned with his new badge & stripes by his wife Betty Simmons.
