Senior Warden Vikki Wright has retired from the Marlin Hobby Complex after serving 31 years with TDCJ.

A retirement party was held in her honor Friday, August 3, 2018 at the Marlin Hobby Complex visitation center.

She was surrounded by a host of staff and family who gave their farwell’s in the form of speeches and gifts. It was very obvious that Wright made a great impact on the lives of those around her.

Those who described her talked about how much of a caring person she is for others and how passionate she was about her job.

Lady Baylor Bears Head Coach Kim Mulkey Robinson paid Warden Wright a surprise visit at her retirement celebration and she was ecstatic about the visit. Those that know her, knows that she’s a big Baylor Bears fan.

Another big highlight from the celebration was when the staff surprised her with a gift to a NFL game. Wright is a big fan of the Pittsburg Steelers so the staff came together and purchased 2 tickets to the Steelers vs Patriots game in December that included a two night stay along with round trip airfare.

Wright and her husband plan to do some traveling now that they are both retired. They now reside in Henrietta, Texas.
