A Convoy of Law Enforcement Officers & First Responders Deployed from Marlin to Woodway to Lay To Rest Falls County Deputy Matt Jones

A convoy left Marlin at 7 a.m. this morning heading to Wooday, Texas to lay to rest fallen Falls County deputy, Matt Jones. Memorial services for deputy Matt Jones will be today at 11 a.m. at First Woodway Baptist Church at 101 North Ritchie Rd. in Woodway, Texas.

Deputy Jones was killed last Friday when a car struck him and Riesel police Chief Danny Krumnow. They were assisting a motorist that slid off the road on State Highway 6 south of Riesel when the tragedy occurred.

Jones was with Falls County SO for 14 years and was serving as a K-9 deputy at the time of his death.

According to an update on Riesel PD’s Facebook page Chief Krumnow is in critical condition. He had a few setbacks over the last few days with fever and a couple of infections.

Surgery was scheduled for 10/17/2019 to repair his fractured ribs but doctors could not perform surgery because of the instability of his breathing.

A GoFundMe account has been setup for those who would like to donate to Chief Krumnow’s family. The link can be found on the Riesel PD Facebook page.
