Falls County Receives 5.8M Courthouse Restoration Grant

Falls County has received a 5.8M restoration grant from the Texas Historical Commission. The project will cost a total of 6.8M and Falls County will contribute 1M.

Construction is projected to begin in November and will take an estimated 18 – 24 months to complete. While renovations are underway the courthouse will operate out of the old Thomas T. Connally VA building.

The Falls County Courthouse was built in 1939 and hasn’t had many upgrades since. Judge Elliot stated that the electrical wiring will be updated and HVAC will be installed so that all offices will have AC. The offices are currently using window units for cooling.
