Marlin HEB & Marlin ISD Host Their 5th Annual Veteran’s Day Program

Marlin HEB & Marlin High School held their 5th Annual Veteran’s Day Program today at the Marlin High School Auditorium. This event is held each year to honor Veterans in Marlin and Falls County for their service to our country.

During this event students get an opportunity to learn about the importance of Veteran’s Day and those who served. Students from the MHS AVID and FHA programs participated in today’s event and the MHS band provided music.

Marlin HEB Manager in Charge Mike Sodek was the host of the event and MHS student Deonta Mims was the Master of Ceremony. Each Veteran in attendance was personally recognized and presented with a red carnation and a flag pin by students and staff of Marlin ISD.

A Veteran’s Day speech was given by Brook Chavez and the Keynote speaker was Mr. Steven L. Cook, Jr., who is the 2nd Div. Commander of the American Legion.

Following the program a short reception along with refreshments were provided for attending Veterans, their families and guest.
