Marlin ISD Superintendent Dr. Michael Seabolt has been placed on paid administrative leave pending an investigation that will be conducted by an outside agency. Board president Billy Johnson will be in charge of hiring an agency to conduct the investigation. It is unclear at this time what the investigation is about.
The board voted 4 in favor and 1 against for the suspension of the superintendent during a special board meeting held by the MISD board of managers Wednesday, June 5, 2019.
The board instructed the superintendent to turn in all school keys and district devices and is forbidden to be on district property during his suspension.
The board also voted 3-2 to rescind a lawsuit against TEA.
Assistant Superintendent Dr. Remy Godfrey has been appointed as acting Superintendent.
