Mr. Lonnie Jackson is retiring after serving 34 years an Adult Probation Officer.
Mr. Jackson’s journey in probation began at Tyler Junior College where he attended from 1980 – 1982.
Lonnie got his start as a Probation Officer in Milam County in 1984 and later began working in Falls County May 1, 1985.
He credits his mom, dad, college professor and his aunt for his success. He said these people instilled in him the importance of hard work and they made sure that he stayed on the right track.
When asked, what will he miss the most about his job, Jackson stated; “The thing I will miss the most is helping the probationers who struggle with substance abuse. About the last 25 to 28 years my main concentration was to get them the help they needed.”
Lonnie’s official retirement date is December 31, 2018.
